Everything Stops for Tea

The naming of teas is a difficult matter, It isn't just one of your everyday games - Some might think you mad as a hatter, Should you tell them each goes by various names ~ T.S. Elliott

Legends about the discovery of tea, with the origins of the beverage is shrouded in Chinese folklore. One legend credits the Chinese Emperor Shen Nung, who discovered that the boiling of water made it safe to drink. The Emperor drank the liquid and found it tasty, and relaxing. The Chinese word for tea is tcha.

Tea really is the most refreshing drink in the afternoon and it is a shame to spoil its flavour by not brewing it correctly. We serve the highest quality teas, from traditional Earl Grey to Herbal teas for guests who prefer to limit caffeine consumption. Our thermostatically controlled kettles produce perfectly brewed tea, every time.

There are three main types of tea to choose from: black tea, oolong or red tea, and green tea. Each type of tea has a number of varieties each with its own distinctive flavour and aroma.

"Thank you once again for the wonderful afternoon. You did a fabulous job making us all feel very special. The food was amazing, and everyone just loved the different tea flavours. I have heard many positive comments from my friends. It was such a treat for me to be able to enjoy a tea party in my own home and not have to do anything for it!" ... Ingrid K.

Our Teas

Classic Black Teas

Baroness Grey - The dried lemon peels add an additional tartness to the citrus character of the tea making it a fantastic alternative to traditional Earl Grey.

Buccaneer Exciting on many frontiers ~ Black Tea, Toasted Coconut, Chocolate & Vanilla. This adventurous profusion of flavours complement each other enthusiastically making Buccaneer a standout amongst teas.

Caramel - Its sweet butteriness makes this tea one of the great dessert teas. The slight vanilla notes of the blend mix perfectly with a little milk and a dash of sugar.

Ceylon Black Located in the famed Uva Highlands of Sri Lanka, this OP grade tea is grown at an elevation of 5,000-6,000 ft above sea level. Slim, gently twisted black & deep chestnut hued leaves steep to a bright copper-colored cup. Distinct citrus notes, medium body & clean, brisk character are hallmarks of this highly valued black tea.

Victorian Earl Grey Take a step back into the past with this floral blend.
